The Lesley University College of Art and Design announces a new partnership with the 41-year-old Photographic Resource Center, which has relocated to Lesley’s Porter Campus in Cambridge.

Since 1976, the Photographic Resource Center (PRC) has served Greater Boston and New England through lectures, educational programming and exhibits that explore new work, ideas and methods in photography and related media.

“We are very grateful to Lesley University College of Art and Design for this opportunity and look forward to growing our relationship with the school and its students, faculty and staff,” says PRC Acting Executive Director Bruce Myren.

As a resident partner, the PRC is now located in our state-of-the-art Lunder Arts Center on Massachusetts Avenue, which opened in 2015. Boston University previously hosted the PRC, from 1979 to 2017.

The PRC will host lectures, "Nights at the PRC" work-sharing events and more at the Lunder Arts Center.

“The relocation of the PRC to Lesley University will provide our students and the community of Cambridge with a rich photography resource for research, teaching, exhibitions and events,” says Richard Zauft, Dean of the College of Art and Design.

“We look forward to partnering with them on photography exhibitions and visiting artists for the university that are free and open to the public.”

Lesley has both BFA and MFA programs in photography, as well as a robust exhibitions program. The university and the PRC have enjoyed a longstanding relationship, including Lesley interns, volunteers and staff who have worked with PRC over the years. Plus, Lesley Dean Emeritus Stan Trecker is a former executive director of the PRC.

As part of the new partnership, all Lesley students, faculty and staff are automatically institutional members of the PRC.

The PRC is an independent non-profit organization whose programs are supported by grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, private foundations and PRC members.
