Lesley partners with City Year

Partnership's alumni scholarships ease economic and social barriers.

Lesley University this spring entered into a partnership with City Year to provide scholarships to talented and motivated students, helping them achieve a graduate degree.

Under the partnership agreement, the university will provide a scholarship equal to 25 percent tuition to City Year alumni to pursue advanced degrees with Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences and College of Art and Design.

“Our new partnership with City Year is a natural fit for Lesley University, as both institutions share a commitment to education and empowering students to become lifelong learners with impact on local, national and global communities,” said Selase Williams, Lesley University provost and vice president of academic affairs. “By easing economic and social barriers, Lesley and City Year are supporting students to obtain the means to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others.”

“Lesley University is a leader among institutions of higher education in preparing students for careers of impact and is a great next step for City Year graduates who want to build on their service experiences in public schools,” said Sean McDevitt, Senior Director of Alumni & Career Services at City Year. “As alumni of City Year and Lesley, these dedicated leaders will have the skills, passion and training to be catalysts of change within education and other sectors.”
