Creative Writing Faculty Featured on NPR's Code Switch

Faculty Jason ReynoldsMFA in Creative Writing faculty Jason Reynolds was recently featured alongside coauthor Brendan Kiely on NPR's Code Switch: Frontiers of Race, Culture and Ethnicity for their novel "All American Boys."  Written in response to the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and other young black Americans, the novel explores racial profiling and police brutality.  Learn more about the novel and its authors here.

Alumni Spotlight: Sara Farizan

Sara Farizan ’10 writes the books she wishes she could have read as a teenager. As a graduate student in Lesley’s master of fine arts in creative writing program, Farizan hit on the idea of writing a young adult novel about two girls desperately in love, set in Tehran, Iran—a very dangerous place to be gay.
