Because our goal is for graduates to be well-prepared to teach mathematics, we have developed a system to track student progress. Key assignments are identified in every course, which address program competencies that link to state and professional standards. Faculty give students actionable feedback on their progress based on these assignments, to ensure continuous improvement.A graduate of a Lesley University mathematics program:Demonstrates a sound understanding of mathematics, pedagogical content knowledge, technology and formative assessment.Understands the interrelationship of human development, cognition, and culture and their impact on learning.Understands how to form connections among educators, families, and the larger community to promote equity and access to education for his/her studentsKnows how to foster learning and create safe, respectful, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environments.
