What is a Zine?
According to Wikipedia, a zine (an
abbreviation of the word fanzine, or magazine; pronounced /'zi:n/ "zeen")
is most commonly a small circulation publication of original or appropriated
texts and images.
What is the Zine Collection philosophy?
Zines are an individualistic form of self-expression
well-suited to the educational philosophy of Lesley and AIB. The Lesley Zine
Collection will gather the
diverse ideas, experiences, interests, and personal histories of the Lesley
community. The collection will be shared with the Lesley community as a
browsing collection and archived in the University Archives to document and
record
life at Lesley.
How do I submit a zine?
- Zine submission is open to any Lesley community member,
including students, alumni, staff, and faculty.
- The author will submit
two hard copies of each zine:
an original for the archives and a reproduction for the open
collection. No electronic copies will be accepted at this time.
- Each author must sign an author
permission form when submitting zines
to the collection.
How do I make a zine?
Thank you jojo
Lazar for the Zine Workshop that you taught in October.

Are the zines accessible to the public?
Yes! There will be a rotating selection of zines on the first floor of the
Sherrill Library - Lesley University, Brattle Campus. The
physical address is 89 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA 02138. We will also
keep copies of the zines in the Lesley University Archives located in the
Sherrill
Library.
