The Media Resources Research
Guide is a comprehensive gateway to media resources both within the library and
online. The Guide includes review sources, production supports and invites
consultations with faculty and students seeking to integrate media into
their teaching and learning.
Copyright Issues
Copyright and duplication guidelines for media materials differ from those
for print materials. The Kresge Library Media Center follows Public Performance
and Fair-Use Copyright Guidelines for all its collections. Borrowers are
asked to respect
and follow copyright guidelines.
Robin Feinland,
Media Resources Specialist, is responsible for the Kresge Library Media Center
collection

Production Support
Professional staff support students, faculty and staff with project planning,
production and distribution.
Project Planning
Professional staff recommend appropriate media formats, guide patrons in forming
their production teams, suggest reasonable production schedules, and instruct
patrons in the use of the appropriate presentation equipment. Staff may refer
patrons to outside resources for those projects that exceed the Kresge Library
Media Center's production capabilities.
Production
The Kresge Library Media Center's facilities support digital video production
and post-production, computer graphics and digital editing of still and video
images. Supported
computer applications include: PowerPoint, Photoshop, MovieMaker, iMovie,
Final Cut Suite, iDVD, Adobe Premiere, and Media Cleaner Compression.
Video Taping Referrals
The Kresge Library Media Center provides a referral service which locates students
who have been trained on our video cameras and sound equipment and who can
be hired
as free-lance
videotapers upon request.
The student works for the department requesting the videotaper and makes all
individual arrangements with the department. The availability of free-lancers
is not guaranteed, and arrangements should be made as much in advance as
possible.
If no free-lancer is available, the department may designate a student or staff
person to be trained by the Kresge Library Media Center Staff.
