Media Resources Collection

The Media Resources Collection includes videos, a small collection of audio resources, and in-house previewing and circulating equipment .

Video Collection

The Media Center has a selective collection of approximately 1700 educational video titles that are available to support and enhance teaching at Lesley University and to support students in their field placements. These programs are intended for educational use and circulate to Lesley University faculty, students, and staff. The collection includes both DVD and VHS titles.

Users can search the video collection holdings via the FLO Catalog, or the Media Center's online video catalog.

A growing number of Lesley videos are available online through both licensed resources and public websites. Find a list of these videos in the Media Resources Guide. You must sign into myLesley for access to licensed titles.

Members of the Lesley University community may access the Video Collection. For information on circulation policies, please see the charts of borrowing privileges, organized by user category.

Audio Resources

The Sherrill Library has a small collection of audio CD's and audio tapes. All audio tapes are spoken word recordings. CDs include both music (mostly classical and world music), and spoken word recordings (including audio books), as well as sound effects.

For information on circulation policies, please see the charts of borrowing privileges, organized by user category.

Equipment Collection

Every media format in the Media Center's collections is supported by preview and circulating equipment. Preview carrels support viewing and playback of DVD's, video, CD's, audio tapes, LP's, Macintosh and PC computer software, and Internet access.

Equipment circulates for both university and individual uses and includes digital camcorders, digital audio recorders, digital still cameras, DVD players, CD players, microphones, monitors, slide projectors, tape recorders, overhead projectors, and other special equipment.

Non-circulating equipment supports the production of video, graphics, and multimedia presentations. Satellite and cable reception is supported by the Media Center and routed throughout the Main Campus. A complete listing of facilities and equipment are provided here.

For information on circulation policies, please see the charts of borrowing privileges, organized by user category.

Marie Gannon, Director of the Media Center, is responsible for this collection.
