Setting up your Computer to access Databases

  1. Make sure your browser is set to accept cookies, enable Java script, and check for new versions of Web pages automatically. See these instructions for how to do this:

How to Modify Browser Settings: Cookies, JavaScript, and Checking Cached Web Pages
    http://www.lesley.edu/library/guides/research/cookie.html

  2. Disable Call Waiting on your telephone service if you use a dial-up Internet connection. Call Waiting will bounce you from the database whenever a call comes in.
  3. Adobe Reader software is required to view articles and images in PDF format from some databases, including ERIC documents. To download Adobe Reader, see PDF Documents.
