Library Information

Visiting Other Libraries

Students need to visit libraries, often more than one, to locate essential resources. Many libraries welcome guests to view their collections. In most libraries, reference librarians who specialize in finding information are available to assist users at the library. Library holdings may be accessible by computer, using a computer in the library or via the Internet.

Publicly-supported colleges and universities often allow public access to their collections for reference use within the library. Some public colleges and universities offer special borrowing privileges for state or area residents. These services may be available at no cost or for a moderate fee. Information may be obtained by calling a specific library’s circulation desk.

Please note: Library hours and policies are subject to change; students should call in advance to confirm them.

Library Etiquette

When using other libraries, students should...

Students in the library.
  • inform themselves of library policies;
  • recognize that the library's own users (registered students and faculty) have priority in using services and resources;
  • call an off-campus services librarian at Lesley University for extensive or in-depth consultation or assistance.

Students are important ambassadors from Lesley University to the libraries and research institutions around the country that share their resources.
