Finding Articles Off-Campus

Online Articles / Article Copy Service

The fastest way to obtain journal articles is to find them in the library's online databases, or at local libraries. Other services are also available, requiring from 24 hours to several weeks, as follows:Student in Library

The Lesley University Libraries have excellent journal collections to serve Lesley University programs. To determine if a particular journal is in one of the library's online databases or in the library collection, search the Journals List. For help using the Journals List, try using this step by step guide (pdf). For help with databases, go to the Online Articles section.

If you cannot find the journal you need on the Journals List, the fastest way to obtain an article from that journal is to visit a local public or academic library that subscribes to it. Most libraries are open to the public, and you may photocopy articles for your research. College and university libraries are most likely to have academic journals, although some large public libraries do as well. An alternative to visiting a local library is our Article Copy Service.

Many libraries also subscribe to full-text databases, the same or similar to those at the Lesley University Libraries. These databases may be available to visitors of the library, but only their own members may access them online.

For information about libraries in your area, see Resources by State.

The fastest way to get articles!

You may search the databases, choose articles to read and print right from the computer, or e-mail to your home. Databases are only for current Lesley students, faculty and staff. A myLesley login is required. See How to Choose a Database for tips on where to start your search. See How to Search Catalogs & Databases for search tips. If you have trouble accessing the databases from home, read Troubleshooting the Databases.

Most ERIC documents (with ED numbers) from 1993 to the present are available online through the ERIC database.
