A long-time art enthusiast and daughter of an art teacher, Katie has quickly
been able to put her art therapy skills to use at a prestigious internship
at the Dimock Center. "I work with children one to three years old
who are being screened for autism. It’s fascinating to see the effect
different kinds of art has on them, and how, through art, I can help them
express their feelings."
A self-described overachiever in high school (theater, sports, student government)
Katie keeps up a pretty active pace at Lesley too, where she plans to continue
her education and earn a Ph.D. "I love it here. The Museum of Fine
Arts, the shopping in Cambridge, Red Sox games — in addition to getting
a great education and professional preparation there’s just so much
to do."
