Before she came to Lesley, Lynne had never been out of Vermont. Thanks to
the education she’s received and the support of her professors, she’s
now interned in California and hopes to study abroad in Mexico.
"The professors here treat you like professionals and have high expectations
of you," says Lynne, who credits her chemistry teacher, Michael Thibodeau,
with pushing her to apply for an internship at UC Berkeley. Lynne was one
of 80 students selected nationwide to work with a Masters level teacher
and research scientist to develop curriculum for schools or public
health agencies.
In addition, Lynne has also benefited from teaching internships at both
urban and suburban schools in the Boston area. "Coming from a small town in rural Vermont, I've really been impressed with the diversity of experiences Lesley has provided me." Her advice to Boston newcomers:
"Just explore and don’t be afraid."
