Jared D. Kass
Professor Kass’s presentation focuses on the question: How can we speak of something so seemingly naïve and abstract as spirituality, in a world where every major culture in all historical periods, elitism, racism, patriarchalism, greed, and a need to dominate through violence, has created throughout history, a “chain of pain?” He quotes James Joyce, who has described history as “a nightmare from which humanity is trying to awake.”
