Sharlene Voogd Cochrane

Faculty Sharlene Voogd CochraneAn instructor in Lesley's graduate Interdisciplinary Studies program, Dr. Sharlene Voogd Cochrane has focused her current scholarly research on social/cultural history, particularly intersections of class, gender, race, and religion in the lives of women. Dr. Cochrane's dedication to cultural competency initiatives at Lesley has led her to serve as the coordinator of the Women Studies Steering Committee, the University Diversity Council, and act as a co-facilitator for the Cultural Literacy Curriculum Initiative.

Martha McKenna

Martha Barry McKenna is a professor of the arts and provost at Lesley University. She teaches courses in the interdisciplinary arts and humanities in the Creative Arts in Learning and Interdisciplinary Inquiry divisions of the university. Dr. McKenna has pursued scholarship that integrates the performing and visual arts in various educational settings, including schools, museum and communities. Her most recent publications include Teaching for Aesthetic Experience: the Art of Learning and Make Way for Ducklings: Curriculum Guide for Teachers which she co-edited with Gene Diaz. She currently serves as Chair of the Task Force on Higher Education of the National Arts Education Partnership, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and U.S. Department of Education, and is Vice-President of the National Arts in Learning Collaborative.
