There are Three Areas of Service Provided to International Students at Lesley University:
U.S Immigration Law & Workshops:
Primarily, ISS staff advises international students on matters of U.S. immigration law. As an international student studying at Lesley, your U.S. immigration status impacts a variety of aspects of your life in the U.S., including your academics, possible employment, and travel in to and out of the United States. We are here to advise you on all of these matters and any other issues that may be affected by immigration law in order to facilitate your academic success here!
Cross-Cultural Programs:
ISS sponsors international student orientations and cross-cultural programs throughout the year. Our goal is to orient you as soon as you arrive at Lesley helping to ensure a smooth transition into life at the University and in the United States. We strive to introduce you to American culture and encourage you to make friends with other international students and Americans on campus. Some of the cross-cultural programs we have sponsored in the past include:
- Fall Apple Picking Trip
- Boston "Ahts" Festival
- Traditional Thanksgiving Feast
- International Game Night
Advocacy and Cultural Questions:
ISS staff are delighted to advocate for you if you are having difficulty in any aspect of their new life in the U.S. We are also here to guide students to the best resources on and off campus. Whether it is regarding housing; where to buy a cell phone; or where to go to find traditional food from your home country, we are here to help!
