Programs in Interdisciplinary Inquiry

At Lesley University, you'll find programs that actively embrace diversity, multiple ways of thinking, and an expanded worldview that can lead you from the familiar to the possible, and from what you already know to what you can discover. Each program has its own goals and requirements, but in every instance, you become the active catalyst and creator of your own curriculum.

Lesley offers three delivery models that afford students flexibility and expert faculty guidance as they earn their Master of Arts, Master of Education, or post-master's Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies.

The Interdisciplinary Studies Program at Lesley

Select courses from across disciplines to design your own major while studying on our Cambridge Campus.

The Interdisciplinary Studies Program Learning Community Residency

Meet each semester for a 6-day residency in the Boston vicinity, followed by faculty-guided independent study projects carried out from any location in the world.

The Independent Study Degree Program

Join a 35 year legacy of learners and construct your own program of graduate study, choose your location(s) for study and work with a faculty team of experts.

Through the Interdisciplinary Studies and the Independent Study Programs at Lesley you can be as entrepreneurial in your graduate studies as you are in your career or profession. Lesley University supports academic study form any location in the world through Internet access to leading edge databases, tutorials, and the presence of faculty and library staff with expertise in long–distance graduate learning.

Degree specializations are academically based and only limited by imagination. Study topics may be interdisciplinary, combine theory and practice, build on personal interest and experience, or even define a new field. They are as specialized as the students who design them. Recent topics include:

  • Historical Studies and literature
  • Second language learning

Since students can tailor their programs according to their own interests and passions, the study possibilities are limitless. Contact us to explore how you can exercise your creative mind toward degree completion at Lesley.
