Lesley University Diversity
Council (LUDC)
A voluntary group of faculty, administrators and staff whose mission is to
cultivate a learning environment, in all the programs, which acknowledges and
appreciates the inherent worth and dignity of every person. The Council fosters
sensitivity and mutual respect among members of the Lesley community, and offers
encouragement and support so that all individuals can strive to reach their
full potential. At the heart of the mission is a commitment to social justice
for all. To this end, the Council is dedicated to honoring and understanding differences
in all their dimensions. The Council believes in leveraging these differences
by addressing constructs of power and privilege which often result in
oppression, marginalization, and discrimination. The work focuses on retention

maintaining a University environment that embodies the positive attributes of a
civil and just society.
