lONG TERM CARE INSURANCE

Lesley University offers the opportunity to benefit eligible employees and their eligible family members, such as their spouse, parent, grandparent, etc to purchase long-term care insurance through UNUM.

Under this plan, Long Term Care Insurance benefits may be provided to people who, due to an illness, accident or advancing age, need assistance to maintain their activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, eating, dressing, etc.). Long Term Care Insurance provides a more comprehensive benefit than what is typically offered by medical and disability insurance alone, and helps to address the financial and personal challenges of a long term care situation. You have a choice as to the location where Long Term Care Insurance is received, such as in a long term care facility or at home. Additionally, you have the option to purchase different dollar amounts of coverage per month ($1,000 increments), duration of coverage (3 years, 6 years, or unlimited duration), and inflation protection. Costs owed each month are contingent on your benefit elections, and the age of the enrollee.

UNUM requests that any employee seeking to file a Long Term Care claim contact UNUM Benefits directly at the following number:  1-800-693-4988.  The entire claims process will be handled between the LTC insurance holder and UNUM.
