Independent Study Degree Program

Admissions Information

The admissions process consists of two parts:

  1. The development of a study plan
  2. The completion of the graduate admissions application process

Development of a program study plan is required for all applicants to the Independent Study Degree Program. Applicants can take up to one year to complete their study plan form the date they submit their application. The plan must be approved before the rest of the application is reviewed. Study plans should be emailed to Lisa Lombardi, Assistant Director, Advising and Student Services in the Independent Study Degree Program Office. Application materials should be mailed to the Admissions Office. Students may apply for admission in the fall, spring, or summer semester, though faculty are available only on a limited basis during the summer session. Admissions materials should be submitted at least two months prior to the projected enrollment date.

Admissions Requirements

Students applying to the M.A. and M.Ed. programs are required to hold an undergraduate degree.

Students applying to the C.A.G.S. program are required to hold a Master's Degree and to have professional experience in their fields.
