Neal received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Davis, where he studied ecology and evolutionary biology. He has a varied background that has included working as an ornithological researcher, a statistical consultant, a computer programmer, and a visiting professor in wildlife ecology. His interests include educational theory and practice, spirituality, and the human connection to the natural world. He loves working at AEI for the opportunity it offers to participate in growth of students as full human beings and because he gets to drive a school bus. When not on the bus he lives in Montville, Maine, with his wife and two cats.
