Eleanor Roffman earned her Ed.D. from Boston University. Her academic interests center around transformative education. This includes focusing on how education changes us, and can be a change agent in the lives of people. She perceives counseling as a transformative process, one that can provide the possibility of growth and affirming change for both the counselor and the people whose lives she/he touches. At Lesley, Eleanor teaches from this perspective. She views the classroom as a co-investigative and collaborative environment. Her interests range from working in urban educational environments, teaching counseling skills courses, exploring culture and identity, and teaching about the experiences of women, gays and lesbians, and other disenfranchised members of our society. Her work reflects her multicultural world view and life experiences. |
