Coleen has been an educator for 26 years. Starting out in early childhood education, she spent years living with students in the natural environments of North America, Europe, and south India where she garnered much experience in building learning communities and looking deeply at ecological connections and the systems that support all life. As former Education Director of the Audubon Expedition Institute, and Executive Director for the Geocommons College Program, she was part of the collaboration in the design of the Ecological Teaching and Learning MS program. She is a member of the Ravenwood Collective, an intentional community in the midcoast region of Maine. Her teaching focuses on deep learning and how to bring philosophy into action for a better world. She has developed curricula for many programs at many age levels, and has presented her work in multiple professional contexts. Coleen loves to teach and live fully, and brings her wisdom and years of experience in environmental education to students constantly. Coleen teaches in both the AEI field program and the ETL program. |
