Michaela KirbyAssistant Professor and Coordinator of Field Training, Division of Expressive Therapies Psy.D., Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology; M.A., Lesley University (617) 349-8432 Michaela Kirby received a Masters in Expressive Therapy from Lesley in 1986 and completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in 1998. She is a licensed clinical psychologist, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), as well as a registered/board certified art therapist. For the past six years she has coordinated the undergraduate art therapy program at Lesley College where art therapy has become the fastest growing undergraduate major. Prior to her faculty position in Lesley College, she worked as the Assistant Director of Field Training for the Expressive Therapies Division. She maintains a private practice at Art-For-All Studio which she co-founded with Denise Malis, ATR, in Somerville. Michaela has been active in the American Art Therapy Association and is currently serving on the education committee. She has over 20 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including residential schools for adolescents, public schools, a college counseling center, day treatment, in-patient, and out-patient settings. Areas of specialization include sandplay, autism and developmental delays, adolescence, women's sexuality and women with ADHD. |
