Jared Kass, Professor, earned his Ph.D. from the Union Institute. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He has been a core faculty member at Lesley University since 1976. Dr. Kass is the Project Director of the Study on Well Being at Lesley University. His research examines the contributions of spiritual development to health promoting behaviors, pro-social behaviors, and psychological maturation. He is a Fellow of the Contemplative Practice Program administered by the American Council of Learned Societies. He is also an Associate of the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention, funded by the U.S. Department of Education. In 1997 he was a Visiting Scholar at the Danielson Institute at Boston University. From 1987 to 1990, he was a Visiting Lecturer in Medicine at the New England Deaconess Hospital, Mind/Body Medical Institute, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kass is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society, the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion. He has served on the Advisory Boards for the Boston Clergy and Religious Leaders Group for Interfaith Dialogue (and presently serves as its Coordinator), The Person-Centered Expressive Therapy Institute, and Hospice of Cambridge. He is on the steering committee of the Institute for Body, Mind and Spirituality at Lesley University.
