Lisa Tsoi Hoshmand earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hawaii. She is a licensed clinical psychologist with over twenty years of experience in the field. Dr. Hoshmand is an active researcher in the areas of philosophical and theoretical psychology, qualitative methodology and action research, cross-cultural issues, and professional education in counseling and psychology. Her work has resulted in many publications; most recently an edited book, Creativity and Moral Vision in Psychology: Narratives on Identity and Commitment in a Postmodern Age. "I believe in quality teaching and the importance of a challenging and nurturing educational environment. The counseling field can offer a holistic understanding of human development and empower individuals and communities to address problems of living in a diverse society.
