I am a theater artist, educator, and arts-based researcher. As the professional development coordinator in Creative Arts in Learning I work with adjunct faculty across the country, developing mentorship programs. I also teach Drama and Critical Literacy, Integrated Arts Approaches in the Curriculum, and Educator Inquiry off campus. I have 17 years of experience working with arts organizations in theater, opera, dance, visual arts and music. Currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Educational Studies at Lesley, my research focuses on how theater education can develop a sense of voice and identity in adolescents. I have used theater as a tool for social change creating original scripts based on issues of interest to the community I am working with, encouraging participants to access their own voice, and develop the ability to listen for the voices of others. My passions also include aesthetic education and arts-based research.
