Division of Expressive Therapies
Master of Arts in Expressive Therapies - Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling Specialization (60 credits)
The Master of Arts in Expressive Therapies, Art Therapy specialization, is a 60-credit program that includes learning about clinical work and supervision in art therapy and the integration of the arts in the practice of psychotherapy.
Pre-requisites needed to be considered for acceptance into this specialization include the following:
18 credits of studio art; 12 credits of psychology including abnormal psychology and developmental psychology; and a Principles & Practices of Art Therapy course. All pre-requisite coursework must have grades of B or better.
The specialization can be completed in 24 months (including two summer terms) or in three academic years of full- time study.
- 1050 hours of field experience are required.
