• Arts Integration
  The teaching of curricular content through artistic explorations: teaching in, teaching through and teaching with the arts. 
• Literacy
  The arts represent "other languages".  They encourage in teachers and their students not only verbal literacy (poetry, drama and storytelling), but musical, kinesthetic, and visual literacies.  The arts provide a variety of ways to connect with content and allow students multiple modes in which to express their learning.
