  • Susan DeCristofaro, R.N., M.S., O.C.N.
    Susan DeCristofaro, RN, MS, OCN, is the Director of Patient Family Education at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Susan provides leadership for institute Patient Family Education initiatives, which often include national initiatives. She also oversees the Creative Arts program which hosts drama, music, humor, creative writing and visual art. As a reiki practitioner, she currently is a co-investigator for a reiki study with the Lenny P. Zakim Center for Integrated Therapy. Susan is a past chair for the National Cancer Institute, Cancer Patient Education Network and a member of the present NCI CPEN Steering Committee. On a national level Susan has received the Oncology Nursing Society Amgen Excellence in Patient/Public Education Award. Her international presentations include Sydney, Australia and Venice, Italy. Susan most recently received recognition for her community outreach initiative introducing the Blum Resource Center thirty-nine foot van. The Blum Family Resource Center van serves the greater Boston community offering education to prevent cancer. The Blum van, in it’s first year, offers prostate cancer PSA testing and skin cancer screening for persons of all ages.
  • Lily Fessenden
    Lily Fessenden has been faculty for the Ecological Teaching and Learning and Environmental Education master's programs at Audubon Expedition Institute and now serves as division director. She is working on a Ph.D. in the Humanities with a concentration in transformational learning and change and her dissertation is a cooperative inquiry focused on the experience of interbeing. Lily has practiced her educational philosophy through homeschooling, teaching conflict management, and by serving on the boards of PeaceAction Maine and the Center for Consensual Democracy. She was faculty and Executive Director of the Geocommons College Program, a study abroad experience focused on communities working towards a sustainable future. Lily also directed the Northeast Initiative, an outreach program of The White Mountain School helping secondary schools integrate sustainability into their school improvement efforts. Lily is currently involved in a sustainable living experiment on 152 acres in Searsmont, Maine.

  • Joan Klagsbrun, Ph.D.
    Joan Klagsbrun is a licensed psychologist with a private psychotherapy practice. She is the director of The Wellspring Center for Life Enhancement, a non-profit center which provides psychological support for individuals and families facing life-changing illness. She has also served for decades as part-time, and then adjunct faculty of Lesley University in the Graduate Counseling Psychology Division, and is also an adjunct faculty member at Andover Newton Theological School. Joan is a coordinator of the International Focusing Institute and presents Focusing, a mind/body method, nationally and internationally to psychotherapists, healthcare providers, and the public. She has published articles on Focusing in professional journals. She is on the advisory board of both The Focusing Institute and the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine.
