Division of Environmental StudiesThe Audubon Expedition Institute and Lesley University have collaborated over the past three decades in offering field-based environmental programs that have had a significant impact on our students, alumni and the natural world. Central to the AEI offerings has been the traveling based bus programs, engaging students and faculty in study and travel across remote areas of the United States. In the past few years, however, it has become difficult to sustain these programs and the University will be focusing on campus based or hybrid programs to educate the next generation of environmental educators, leaders, and advocates. Our M.S in Ecological Teaching and Learning and M.A in Urban Environmental Leadership give students the opportunity to apply what they are learning directly in their classroom and workplaces. The three week summer sustainable practices program gives undergraduates the opportunity to truly live a sustainable lifestyle. While the ending of the bus programs has been a difficult decision, we are confident that our current program offerings continue to be innovative and rigorous as they help shape tomorrow's environmental leaders.
