Overview

In this lesson, students will learn about the voting process, explore the reasons that people should vote, and take part in a community drive to sign up new voters. Students will learn through a hands-on experiment why voting is important and become aware of the consequences of deciding not to vote.

Essential Questions

Many people who fail to vote state that due to the huge population in the United States their one vote will fail to make a difference; therefore, voting is a waste of time. Why should people vote, and do their votes make a difference?
