If you are applying for admission in one of our graduate programs, you may be chosen to receive one of the following scholarships based on the strength of your complete application. A few scholarships are also available to current Expressive Therapies students.

Applicants applying to both scholarships need to submit a 500-word essay for each. Only recipients will be emailed and notified of their award.
Expressive Therapies Exceptional Scholar AwardThis scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates high academic achievement (as demonstrated by cumulative GPA on their undergraduate transcript) and vision for Expressive Therapies work in each of the modalities (art, dance, drama, expressive arts, music). In the scholarship essay, candidates should discuss how they intent to apply their skills as an Expressive Therapies after graduation from the program.
Expressive Therapies Humanitarian AwardsThis scholarship is awarded to a student from each modality who demonstrates community service involvement. In the scholarship essay, candidates should discuss which organizations they have worked with and the dates of their involvement, why they chose the organization, what they learned from the involvement, and what outcomes were achieved, if any. Additionally, candidates should propose a vision for how they will continue community involvement and community-based work while in graduate school.
The following scholarships are for current graduate students in their last year of study. Please submit a 2 page essay including your name, contact information, the name of the award for which you are applying, and a clear description of how you meet the criteria specified. Please submit your complete essay to Gilda Resmini-Walsh (firstname.lastname@example.org) by November 1st with the name of the award in the subject line.

Community Engagement AwardThis award is given to a graduate student who demonstrates applications of music therapy in the community.
Creativity and Innovation Scholarship AwardThis award is given to a student who demonstrates creativity and innovation within the field of art therapy.
Distinguished Expressive Arts Therapy AwardThis award is granted to an Expressive Therapies student who distinguishes his or her work in graduate studies, internship, or community.
Minerva Drama Therapy Research AwardThis award is given to a student who proposes to build upon his or her thesis research or who presents a strong vision for the application of drama therapy post graduation.
Norma Canner Dance/Movement Therapy AwardThis award is given to a Dance Movement Therapy student who demonstrates passion, involvement, and creative vision in bringing dance/movement therapy to the community and celebrating its culture.
