Graduate & Adult Bachelor's Admissions

Application Procedures for International Students

Application Form and Fee:

The application form must be signed and accompanied by a check or money order for $50 U.S. dollars made payable to Lesley University. All checks submitted must be payable through a U.S. bank. Please note that international students must submit the international student application form in addition to the general application form.

Official Academic Records:

Lesley University requires all applicants to submit official academic records (transcripts or mark sheets) which show the courses taken, grades/marks received, degree granted and date of degree conferral. Transcripts/mark sheets should be received by the Office of Admissions in envelopes sealed by the sending institution. Degree(s) must be conferred by regionally accredited institutions. A diploma or a letter stating that a degree was earned is not sufficient documentation. Uncertified photocopies or facsimiles of original documents are NOT acceptable. All materials must be accompanied by certified English translation.

If you are applying to the Adult Baccalaureate College, you must submit an official secondary school transcript/mark sheet.

Please note: Students in the final year of their academic degree program should submit official transcripts/mark sheets with anticipated conferral date. Once completed, students are required to submit the final official transcript indicating degree conferral.

Office of Admissions for Graduate and Adult Baccalaureate Programs prepares credential evaluations to establish U.S. high school diploma or bachelor's degree equivalency. However, if the Office of Admissions cannot conduct the evaluation, an outside evaluating service will be used at the cost of the student.

Recommendations:

Depending on the program that you are applying to, applicants must submit two or three recommendations from individuals with whom they have worked closely in a professional or academic setting. Recommendations from relatives or personal friends are NOT acceptable. All letters of recommendations should be in English or accompanied by an English translation. All recommendations must be received by the Office of Admission in envelopes sealed by the evaluator, or faxed by the evaluator directly to the Office of Admissions at 617-349-8313.

Written Personal Statement:

Please refer to the specific requirements of the program you are applying to.

Proof of English Language Proficiency:

A TOEFL examination is required for all applicants whose native language is not English. A minimum score of 550 for the paper-based exam, 213 for the computer-based exam or 80 for the Internet-based exam is required for admission. Applicants who have completed degree programs in English at the college or university level (high school or secondary level for Bachelor's degree applicants) may qualify to have the TOEFL requirement waived. If this is not noted on your transcript, please request a letter from the registrar at your school stating that your language of instruction was English.  The ETS institutional code for Lesley is 3483.

Others:

Please refer to the specific requirements of the program you are applying to.

Applicants are advised to photocopy their application form and typed personal statement. All application materials become the permanent property of Lesley University and cannot be returned.
