Susan Griss is a pioneer in the field of arts-in-education. Rooted in her background as a dancer and choreographer, she has developed a set of strategies that uses creative movement, dance, and kinesthetic activities to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. What distinguishes her work from other kinesthetic learning programs is that the movement is integrated into the content of the lesson, rather than as a tangent or parallel activity. The academic objective is at the heart of the movement experience. Susan has been working with students and teachers throughout New York State for over twenty-five years, and has been teaching throughout the United States for Lesley University in the national outreach program of Creative Arts in Learning for the past fifteen years.
