With forty years in education, Dr. Boornazian's work contributes to teacher preparation, educator licensure, adult learning, assessment, portfolio development, and community partnerships. She has experience with teacher preparation at the associate, bachelor, and graduate levels for part-time and full-time learners, both traditional and adult students. As a former dean for undergraduate programs and a director for learning and assessment for adult learners, she has worked extensively with student, faculty, staff, and board members.
The first member of her family to attend college, Sharyn learned about success anxiety and the importance of learning academic structures and expectations. She has organized learning for diverse populations—levels, backgrounds, goals and resources—as tutor, teacher, program designer, faculty, director, supervisor, mentor, consultant, dean, now Certification Officer—while continuing her own learning.
