Robert Shreefter lends a background as an English professor, artist, and teacher to his work in the Art Education and the Integrating Teaching through the Arts programs. He has taught and directed workplace/adult literacy programs at North Carolina State University and Duke University. He has done extensive work with children in schools as a special art and literacy resource teacher, and as an artist-in-residence and in community organizations with a variety of populations including pregnant teenagers, homeless people, and migrant Hispanic youth. He has also worked extensively with literacy councils and libraries.In the spring of 1998, he was artist-in-residence at Homerton College, Cambridge University, England, where he worked with graduate and undergraduate art specialists in integrating bookmaking into their teaching practice. He has also taught undergraduates and graduates at the Art Institute of Boston, and studio and art education courses at the Massachusetts College of Art and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has been a faculty member of Art New England, and has worked with students and teachers in arts integration and literacy enhancement at the Charles Sumner School in Roslindale.His monoprints and made books have been shown in galleries at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill; Lesley University; Truro, MA; Provincetown, MA; Wellfleet, MA; Williamstown, MA; and Cambridge, England.email@example.com
