Mary C. McMackin is a professor in the Language and Literacy Division of the Graduate School of Education at Lesley University, where she teaches EEDUC 6001, The Teaching of Writing K-12. She also mentors clinical literacy instructors in the Lesley University/Urban Teacher Center program, a clinically-based Master's degree program offered in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Mary has co-authored eight books for K-8 teachers and has published several articles. She is on the board of the Massachusetts Reading Association and Phi Delta Kappa (PDK-Harvard University Chapter). Mary has spoken at conferences across the United States and works regularly with elementary and middle school teachers.
