One of the most exciting challenges in photographic education is to guide students to their own means of expression within the context of this constantly evolving medium. I ask students to take personal risks with their work, and support both their failures and their successes. Teaching has been an amazing source of inspiration in my own practice, and my students are constantly reminding me of the power of image-making. My greatest reward as an educator is watching my students find the value and force of their own artistic voices.
Christine Collins received her BA from Skidmore College and her MFA from
Massachusetts College of Art + Design. In addition to the classes she
teaches at AIB, Christine has taught photography and foundation classes
at The Maine Photographic Workshops and Massachusetts College of Art.
