The annual lecture is held in honor of Lesley Professor Emeritus George Hein, founding director of the PhD Program in Educational Studies and founder of the Program Evaluation and Research Group at Lesley University. His belief that doctoral work is a way to improve educational and human service practice through research and study at the highest level, and to build and strengthen a community of scholars committed to human service, remains fundamental to the Lesley PhD Program in Educational Studies. We believe the best way to honor George’s vision is to honor the work of the alumnae/alumni of the PhD program, who carry forth that vision through their work.
