About Us

Center Mission

The mission of the Center for Academic Technology is to promote faculty leadership, vision, collaboration, and inquiry around the effective uses of technology in teaching, learning, and scholarship.

About the Center

Established in 1999, The Center for Academic Technology works with faculty, deans, academic centers, and such entities as appropriate in the exploration and integration of technology across the curriculum. The Center provides a place for individual faculty support and offers regularly scheduled professional development programs. The Center also provides computer workstations for faculty with specialized equipment and software that are not normally available on office workstations.

  • The Annual Academic Technology Institute
  • Academic Technology Grants
  • Professional Development Workshops
  • myLesley training and workshops
  • School-specific workshops and seminars
  • One-on-one consultations and coaching for faculty on myLesley, web publishing, course design, software and other specialized topics as needed and requested.

Committee Service and Special Group Memberships

The Center staff is actively involved in policy and planning issues regarding academic technology on campus. Committee membership includes:

  • Academic Technology Committee
  • Classroom Technology Planning Group
  • myLesley Pilot Project Team
  • GSASS Academic Technology Committee
  • Assessment & Evaluation Committee
  • Provost Council

Faculty Technology Liaisons

The Technology Liaison works as a part of a collaborative team of liaisons, in conjunction with University Technology's Division of Academic Technology, school leadership, and others as appropriate, to further define the priorities and needs for faculty development and training in technology and support within the schools. Additionally, the liaison will assist with the adoption of myLesley throughout their individual school by identifying effective practices and working with the Academic Technology team on collecting and disseminating these to the broader community.
