Educators interested in adding a specialization to their teaching license must hold an instructional (type 60, 61, 62 or 80) certificate.
*Subject Areas that cannot be added-on by testing: Elementary Education, Special Education, Reading Specialist, Cooperative Education, Early Childhood Education, and Health & Physical Education
Endorsement Earned Through Content Testing
The Lesley programs listed below will help you prepare for the test, and more importantly, to be a confident and effective educator. You must register for the test through the Educational Testing Service. After you have taken and passed the test, enclose a photocopy of the Praxis test score that qualifies you for the instructional Add-On (the PA Department of Education must be listed the as the test recipient) and submit it with the Add-on application.
Please note it is important that students interested in earning an endorsement through Lesley programs contact the Pennsylvania Department of Education prior to registration to ensure that you are informed of the certification requirements needed to receive an endorsement.
Authorization and Educator Certification in Pennsylvania
Authorization: Lesley University is not required to seek authorization to operate in Pennsylvania based on Lesley's current activity within this state, as determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
