TEACHER CERTIFICATION FOR EDUCATORS in FLORIDA
Are you a current educator in Florida and interested in learning more about the process to add a level or an additional field to your teaching license? If so, read more to help guide you through the process.
To add an endorsement to a valid Florida Professional Certificate, you must submit a completed Application Form CG-10 (a complete application form includes appropriate processing fee), and meet the specialization requirements in the subject you wish to add.

Endorsement Earned Through Direct Application
An educator may obtain a Florida endorsement in the following areas through successfully completing the corresponding Lesley program. Applicants should submit for review all official transcripts and application to the Florida Department of Education.
ESOL (K-12) - Students should complete the full 18-credit TESOL program.
Exceptional Student Education (K-12) - Students must complete 30 credits in designated areas, as noted in the requirements for certification webpage. It is recommended that students complete the full 24-credit Special Education program, as well as 6 credits from the Autism Certificate program.
Middle Grade Math - Students must complete 18 semester hours in the following courses: CMATH 6111 Geometry and Measurement 1; CMATH 6113 Probability; CMATH 6114 Statistic and Data Analysis; CMATH 6115 Concepts of Calculus; 2 Elective courses in Math.
Middle Grade General Science - Students must complete 18 semester hours in science and include the following coursework: CNSCI 6100 Biology Explorations; CNSCI 6101 Earth Science from a New Perspective; and CNSCI 6102 Physics of Forces and Motion.
Please note it is important that students interested in earning an endorsement through Lesley programs contact the Florida Department of Education prior to registration to ensure that you are informed of the certification requirements needed to receive an endorsement.
Authorization and Educator Certification in Florida
Authorization: Lesley University is not required to seek authorization to operate based on Lesley's current activity within this state, as determined by the Florida Department of Education.
