TEACHER CERTIFICATION FOR EDUCATORS in DELAWARE
Are you a current educator in Delaware and interested in learning more about the process to add a level or an additional field to your teaching license? If so, read more to help guide you through the process.
Delaware-certified educators who believe that they have qualified for an additional certificate via coursework or testing, or who would like to find out what they would need to do in order to qualify for a specific certificate, should apply for the certificate using the Delaware Educator Data System (DEEDS).
The steps for applying for an additional certificate/evaluation are as follows:
- Log in to DEEDS using your username/password and complete the online application for an additional certificate. As part of the application process, you will specify the particular certificate for which you wish to apply.
- Submit appropriate documentation to the Department. Candidates who are not employed by a Delaware public or charter school at the time of application should direct all documentation to the following mailing address:
Delaware Department of Education
401 Federal St., Suite #2
Dover, DE 19901
ATTN: Certification
*Test scores are forwarded to the Department electronically upon your request.
