School of Education and Graduate School of Arts & Social Sciences graduates were addressed by Honorary Degree recipients Dr. Judith Lewis Herman and Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. Dr. Herman is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and the award-winning author of Trauma and Recovery. Dr. Kabat-Zinn is a Professor of Medicine Emeritus at University of Massachusetts and the founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Lesley College and The Art Institute of Boston graduates were addressed by Honorary Degree recipients Alan Khazei, founder of Be the Change, Inc, and co-founder of City Year; and Vicki Goldberg, a leading voice in the field of photography criticism.
