Lesley University Writers' Conference

Application Information

A complete application packet consists of:

  • cover letter describing your writing experiences
  • application form [pdf]
  • writing sample

NOTE: Tuition and fees are not due until after acceptance to the Conference.

Admission is selective, and based upon evaluation of an applicant's work, submitted as follows:

  1. Each manuscript should have a title page including the author's name, address, email, and the genre of the writing.
  2. Each manuscript should be paginated.
  3. Each manuscript should be formatted in a 12 point Times New Roman or Courier font.
  4. Prose should be double spaced with 1.5 inch margins all around.
  5. Poetry should be single spaced, with a 1.5 inch left margin, each new poem on a new page.
  6. Five to seven poems, no more than 10 pages per manuscript.
  7. Up to 15 pages (4,500 words) of prose per manuscript.

Please keep a copy of your submission, as we will not return manuscripts. Students accepted into the Conference will receive a letter of confirmation.  Applications will be considered on a space available basis.
