A scholarship for students currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree completion program through the Center for the Adult Learner or graduates of the program pursuing studies in Early Childhood Education.
The Constance and Lewis Counts Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2001. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is accepted in the Center for the Adult Learner as an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in the Early Childhood Studies program or is a graduate of the adult learning program and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in the Graduate School of Education.
Constance and Lewis Counts believe that diversity and the richness of multicultural opportunities increase understanding and enrich learning, and they are committed to help close the access gap to higher education for new Americans and first generation college students, especially adults returning to school. Dr. Constance Counts taught for years in the Adult Baccalaureate College at Lesley, and she has a long record of championing early childhood education as an opportunity to help our youngest citizens attain the foundation to pursue the American Dream.
For the Spring 2014 semester, two scholarships of $4,500 will be awarded.

Students can apply for the scholarship in each term and undergrad students are eligible to apply as graduate students if they continue on into the Master’s program at Lesley and meet the requirements.
