Community Overview

The AIB Community

For nearly a century, AIB has been preparing students for a fulfilling life in the visual arts. Our tight-knit community makes AIB stand out from other colleges. We understand that making and appreciating art is a two-way process, and our students and faculty work together on achieving personal and professional goals. Instead of lecture, we engage in dialogue. In place of competition, we encourage collaboration. Our community extends far beyond the walls of our institution. Alumni, visiting artists, and honorary graduates join faculty, staff, and students in becoming a supportive community in pursuit of artistic ideals. This network helps our students make important connections that last a lifetime. There are larger art schools, but the sense of intimacy our students enjoy at AIB isn't based on size alone—rather, it is our philosophy and emphasis on community that make us the choice of tomorrow's brightest artists.
