Policies

Withdrawal and Refund Policy:
Withdrawal must be in writing. For one-day or four-week workshops, no refunds will be given once class has begun. For seven-week courses, students must drop class prior to the second class meeting to receive 100% refund for tuition only. Students must drop class prior to the third class meeting to receive 50% refund for tuition only. Students must drop class prior to the fourth class meeting to receive 25% refund for tuition only. Classes dropped on or after the fourth class meeting will receive 0% refund for tuition and fees. For additional information, please see the tuition refund policies posted by the office of student accounts.

Non-attendance does not constitute an official withdrawal/leave of absence. Students will be held responsible for all related tuition and fees.

Tuition and Fees are correct at the time of this posting; however, Lesley University reserves the right to make changes prior to the start date of classes. For further information, please review the Student Accounts Office website.

There is a $50 charge for declined credit card charges and/or returned checks.

Student Photo ID cards are now required for all pre-college students. Photographs of students will be taken prior to the first class meeting and distributed in class by professors during the second class meeting. Students should plan to arrive 30 minutes early on the first day of their course.

Course Cancellation: Winter Pre-college is a seven and four-week program beginning in February. In case of a class cancellation, the faculty member will schedule a make-up class. Please note that on the first day of class, some instructors may not hold the first meeting for the full 3.5 hours. Please be prepared for this possibility.

Release Statement: Students and their parents, agree that student images, representations of audio and/or visual works, as well as verbal and written statements will become the property of Lesley University, including the Art Institute of Boston. These materials might be used in catalogs, newspaper and magazine articles, advertisements, videos, websites, email and social media campaigns.  The University will not sell student images, representations of their audio and/or visual works, or their verbal and written statements to a third party.

Students and their parents waive the right to review materials before publication and/or bring suit for copyright infringement and that Lesley University does not owe students or their parents any compensation.

Inclement Weather:
When snowstorms or other severe weather conditions raise the question of whether classes will be held, cancellations will be posted for The Art Institute of Boston and/or Lesley University at www.lesley.edu at 6:00 am and/or on TV Channels 4, 5, or 7 or on radio stations WRKO 680 AM, 90.9 FM, or WBZ 1030 AM. In addition, 90.9FM will post all school closings on their website. You may also call University Security at 617.349.8888.

Credit courses are graded and will become a permanent part of the students' university records. After completion of courses, students may request an official university transcript by calling the Transcript Request Line 617.349.8730, by submitting an online request, or by visiting the Office of the University Registrar.

If a student misses a class because of the SAT or PSAT exams, it is considered an excused absence, and the faculty member will assist the student to make up any work missed.

The Art Institute of Boston reserves the right to use and/or reproduce images (photographs, video, digital, media) of students and student artwork for promotional purposes.

Directions to The Art Institute Of Boston can be found here.

Please Note: You will receive written confirmation of your registration, and we will notify you by phone in the event that a course is canceled.
