:: AIB Scholarships

The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University offers a wide range of scholarships for undergraduate study. These scholarships can significantly lower the cost of an AIB education. Whether you are applying as a first-time freshman, transferring from another college, applying as an international student, or continuing your studies at AIB, it makes sense to explore the many scholarships opportunities available to you.

Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

The Art Institute of Boston offers merit-based scholarships for qualified students applying for full time enrollment to our BFA program. The scholarships are based on academic and artistic achievement. Priority is given to all completed applications submitted by February 15th for the fall. Need-based financial aid is also available.

Presidential Scholarship
Full-tuition scholarship awarded to one incoming freshmen based on academic and artistic achievement.

Dean's Scholarship
An annual scholarship of $10,000 is awarded to first-time freshmen applicants who are accepted into a BFA program who demonstrate a strong SAT, GPA and portfolio score.

AIB Scholarship
An annual scholarship of $6,500 is awarded to first-time freshmen applicants who are accepted into a BFA program and demonstrate good academic standing and artistic achievement. These scholarships are renewable each year as long as students remain in good academic standing.

Approximately 65% of our fall enrolled students receive merit-based scholarships. Limited scholarships are also available for students entering in the spring semester. Awards are offered on a rolling basis, but if you apply and are accepted by February 15th you will have first priority consideration for scholarship awards.

The Urban Scholars Program
First-time freshmen fall applicants who are graduating from a Boston, Cambridge, Chelsea, or Somerville public high school are eligible for a $8,000 annual scholarship.

The Boston Globe Scholastic Art Award Scholarship
Three renewable $5,000 scholarships are available to students who compete in the Regional Scholastic Art Awards competition and exhibit. For more information on submission and eligibility, contact your high school art teacher or the Globe Scholastics.

Scholarships for Incoming Transfers

Merit-based Scholarships
Awarded in the fall and spring semesters to qualified transfer students. Awards are based on both academic achievement and artistic potential. Need-based financial aid is also available for transfer students.

Community College Transfer Scholarships
Available to qualified students entering in the spring semester. Priority will be given to students accepted before December 15.
