The college campus visit is an important step in the application process and we’re thrilled to welcome you. To help you plan your visit, we have assembled the following resources.
Click here for directions to AIB (driving and public transportation), as well as maps of the area. On the MBTA (the T), AIB is accessible by the Green Line (B, C, or D trains). Please visit the MBTA website for schedules and fare information.
AIB does not have a dedicated parking lot, but there is ample metered street parking on Beacon Street. Please note: each metered spot accepts only quarters and has a two-hour limit.
Located in the heart of Kenmore Square, AIB neighbors the Fenway Park area. If you plan your visit during baseball season, we advise that you consult the Boston Red Sox schedule and allow extra time for parking and traffic during home games.
To make an appointment, Monday through Friday, call Admissions at 617.585.6710 (800.773.0494 ext.6710) or fill out the online request form. All AIB tours will depart from the main gallery of our 700 Beacon Street building. Once you enter the building, please check in at the information desk.
AIB does not have special rate agreements with any hotels, but the following names are provided as a starting point for your own research. To find the best rate, please contact these hotels directly.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA): Founded in 1870, the MFA offers a range of work from ancient sculpture and classic paintings to contemporary prints and photographs—in addition to film and new media selections. Located in the Fenway, the MFA is about a 15-minute walk from AIB, and current AIB students receive free admission to the museum.
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum: One of Boston's most unique museums, the Gardner features an impressive collection of paintings, furniture, and letters, while hosting rotating exhibitions. The museum occupies the former residence of Boston socialite and art collector Isabella Stewart Gardner, whose collections have not been altered since her death in 1924. Fun fact: anyone named Isabella receives free admission to the museum.
The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA): The ICA was founded in 1936 to house an early modern art scene. Now in its new location on the Boston Waterfront, the ICA's mission of providing access to innovative works of art remains unchanged. In addition to its permanent collection and rotating exhibitions, the ICA offers numerous special programs: lectures, performances, and educational opportunities for children, teens, and college students alike.
Additional Museum and Gallery Listings
For those interested in history, the 2.5 mile Freedom Trail is essential. Afterward, you might tour America's oldest Major League Ballpark, Fenway Park, founded in 1912. Boston Duck Tours offer additional vantage points, as you tour by both land and by the Charles River in a restored World War II amphibious vehicle. To plan your own adventures, consult the Boston Neighborhoods Directory or the Cambridge Visitor's Guide.
